Contact

E-mail: hello@lightninja.io. Please include the app and its version, your phone or computer, and the prop’s board and firmware version (Props → the prop). Screenshots help.

You can also send feedback straight from the Launcher; it opens your e-mail app with the app version filled in.

Getting started

  • The Academy (academy.lightninja.io) explains everything step by step: props, the first show, music sync, the hardware.
  • Downloads of Studio, the Launcher and firmware, with checksums: get.lightninja.io.
  • Studio Online runs in the browser: app.lightninja.io.

Try it without props

You do not need any hardware to try the Launcher. On the Props screen tap No props? Start the demo rig (also in Settings): eight virtual props start inside the app and run the real PixelGuru engine. Add the demo show under Shows, then Prepare and Play: the virtual props take the show’s slots automatically.

The simulator plays any show on 3D props with its music.

My props do not show up

  • The phone and the props must be on the same Wi-Fi network (2.4 GHz). Guest networks and hotspots with “client isolation” stop props from talking to the phone.
  • Allow the Local network permission on iOS and Nearby devices on Android 13+. If you denied it, the app shows where to switch it on.
  • Use Add by IP on the Props screen if your network blocks discovery; the prop’s IP is in your router or on its setup page.
  • A ShowBox or a prop in setup mode makes its own Wi-Fi (PixelGuru-XXXX, PG-ShowBox-XXXX): join it in the phone’s Wi-Fi settings.
  • A new prop gets your Wi-Fi details over Bluetooth when you pair it in the Launcher.

Keeping a show running

  • Android: allow notifications (a running show shows one, with Stop and Open) and set PixelGuru to Not optimised in the battery optimisation list (Settings → Battery optimisation exemption → Open).
  • iOS: keep PixelGuru in front during a show without music; with music, the show keeps running with the screen locked.
  • Flashing light can trigger seizures in people with photosensitive epilepsy. Avoid strobe effects near such audiences.

Account and your data

PixelGuru Cloud is optional: the apps and the props work fully without an account, and then nothing about you is stored on our servers. Details: Privacy policy, Terms of use, Delete your account.
